Defender 1983-2016

Initially called the Land Rover 90 and 110 (and later a 130) based on different available wheelbase lengths, the name Defender first came in use in 1990.

With a redesigned hood and front grill being the main changes from the Series III, the new Land Rover models targeted a broader audience with additional features like improved suspension offering a more comfortable ride. The last Defender rolled off the assembly line in Solihull in January of 2016. In 2019 Land Rover re-launched the Defender as more luxury SUV. Information on the new Defender can be found here (coming soon!).
